A Bun in the Oven

Erin & I met up at Hoag Hospital this past Tuesday, 1/13/09, for our first ultrasound.

I've seen a hundred of these from friends and family over the years without thinking much of them, but never again. I wasn't thinking about my expectations as I arrived at the hospital for the first time of the pregnancy, this happens everyday right? No big deal...Well, it is a big deal. The wand glides across Erin's belly in search of the 3cm member of our family that I believe is in there, but has yet to force any significant change on life as I know it.
And then, there it is. His/her heart is racing at 175bpm and I can see it. Suddenly a pair of developing legs begin to follow suit and today, everything is changed.
